Founded in 2004, NES shoes are hand made with an eco-responsible ethic offering men, women and kids homelike comfort when walking and working. They are a luxurious remedy for the heart and the feet in the urban jungle.
Andrea Szilágyi graduated from Studio Berçot in Paris, with training at Christian Lacroix Haute Couture and Venera Arapu. She considers shoes to be a unique and unavoidable form of self-expression and that everyone should wear tailor-made designs on their feet to walk their path effortlessly in beauty. At the Tokyo International Shoe Fair in 2005 Andrea was a selected guest designer, exhibiting alongside Gaspard Yurkievich. Since, she has exhibited at TRANOI, RENDEZ-VOUS and ZIP ZONE Paris trade fairs, partnered with different showrooms in Paris, Bucharest and Budapest, and sold at shops such as United Arrows, Tokyo or Hoses, Paris. In 2008 Andrea made an active move more attentive to sustainable consumption. Seeking out a respectful atelier, she launched her series of Conscious collections. Giving second life to beautiful items of vintage clothing, unique designs of shoes and bags followed suit, with random colours and textures resulting from the production process.Between 2010 & 2015 Andrea only took bespoke orders of NES shoes and bags to fit exact needs. She finds inspiration in equal measure from talking and working with her clients.Currently she is working with natural and comfortable-to-wear raw gum, eco-friendly leather with vegetal tanning, pre- and post- consumer recycled fur & leather, as well as Pinatex. The encouraging developments at her sustainability-oriented manufactury have inspired Andrea to restart her small-scale series production alongside her bespoke designs.NES shoes offers ethically evolving design and production, subtly altering the way you think about eco-friendly shoes.
